GUIDE DOGS FOR THE BLIND

Lions Foundation of Canada is in its 25th year of service providing specially trained Dog Guides to Canadians with disabilities.  Without these Dog Guides many Canadians would lack the mobility, safety and independence that they so well deserve.

This spring over 200 communities across Canada will participate in the Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser, the Purina Walk for Dog Guides. This healthy, pet-friendly, family Walk raises hundreds of thousands of dollars each year in support of Dog Guides, While the cost of placing and training a Dog Guide is approximately $20,000, each eligible candidate is provided a Dog Guide – including all required training, travel and accommodation – at no charge.

This year the Walk happening in Scarborough on May 25th is just one of the communities taking part in this national event.

Please help support this fundraising effort by featuring the attached community listing in an upcoming issue of your publication.  If you have any further questions please do no hesitate to contact me directly.

Thanks again,

Melissa
