Morningside Mall Update

 

To keep the community informed on the progress of the Morningside Mall, I recently met with the representatives of the site who have provided the following preliminary construction schedule.

 

Construction on buildings A, B and C are currently underway.  These buildings are designated to be the new home of the Toronto Dominion Bank, Pizza Hut and The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.  Please note that exact moving dates are tentative and dependent on negotiated lease agreements.

 

Several other tenants presently in the mall are also scheduled to be relocated.  This move will be completed by early summer.  At this point, the developer will proceed to demolish the existing mall as quickly as possible given his lease obligations.  Construction on the remaining buildings D,E,F,G,H,I and J will begin by late summer/early fall.

 

It is anticipated that by early spring 2008 the following confirmed tenants will begin moving in:

 

 BUILDING E – SHOPPERS DRUG MART

 

BUILDING F – FOOD BASICS

 

BUILDING J, 1st FLOOR – DOLLARAMA

 

 

 The owner has agreed to release the names of other tenants as their agreements have been confirmed.  It is expected that by the summer of2008 the construction of the new Morningside Crossing Mall will be completed.
